The Great Canadian Beer Festival
Location: Royal Athletic Park, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
Time and Date: 3-8 pm on Friday, September 11 and
12-6 pm on Saturday, September 12.
At a Glance
- Admission is by ticket only. $25/ticket Friday and $30/ticket Saturday.
- There are no ticket sales at the door - ticket sales venues are listed on the website at http://www.gcbf.com/tickets.html
- Ticket includes admission, souvenir festival glass and festival guide. The ticket is good for a free BC Transit bus ride home.
- Free shuttle buses every half hour between the festival and Bay Centre downtown.
- This is the 17th annual festival.
- Beer tokens are still $1.25 each. Most 4-oz tastings are one token.
- At least 17 World Classic Styles of beer will be represented, including 15 samples of bitter, 18 samples of lager, 19 samples of fruit beers, 18 pale ales and 25 IPAs.
- Belgian beer: we have 12 authentic Belgian beers and several Belgian-style local brews.
- We have 4 ciders this year. Cider is one of the most popular tipples at the GCBF.
- Cask conditioned beer: This year there will be 24 cask-conditioned beers – the most available at any Canadian beer festival.
- The food outlets range from pizza, Mexican and Caribbean, to German, Greek and smokehouse barbecue.
Did you know … Each year the Great Canadian Beer Festival donates proceeds from the festival to local charities? Since our first festival in 1993 we are proud to have returned more than $110,000 to the community. Our current charity is CFAX Santas Anonymous.
